Nash Finch announces store closings
Sadly, I learned today that all of the Buy'N'Save grocery stores in Minnesota are closing. I'm tearing up at the thought. Every day Totino's pizzas are 99 cents at Buy'N'Save and canned vegetables are 4 cans for $1.00. Last time I was there, a heaping cartload of groceries cost me only $50! Buy'N'Save rocks!
Whippy (my iguana) loves the canned collard greens from Buy'N'Save. This weekend I'll have to rush over there and buy a few cases for her.
The article said that competition from Walmart is partly to blame for Nash Finch's decision to close their Buy'N'Save stores. For the past two years, I've been purposely buying food at the little grocery store in my small town so it doesn't close. I optimistically believe that every time I pick up collard greens for Whippy, I'm waging a battle against the corporate behemoth by not giving them my 69 cents. But Buy'N'Save has still fallen as a casualty. I'll mourn the loss of four cans for $1.00 vegetables.
