Today I bought a snack at Target called Zone Nacho Cheese chips. The bag boasted 14 grams of soy protein per serving and there was $0.69 clearance price tag stuck to it. I thought, "Great! I'm hungry for a little soy protein right now." I bought the chips along with a pencil sharpener (also on clearance) and a box of Tic Tacs. I couldn't wait to rip into the chips as soon as I got back to the lab. I popped one into my mouth and it tasted like cardboard, followed by a strange, foul aftertaste that reminded me of the way Milkbones smell. So I did the right thing, and promptly offered them up as snacks to my co-workers. The round of disgusted looks in the lab was pretty funny, as one person after another tried the nasty snacks. They smelled like oriented strandboard. Looney tried calling the 1-800 number on the bag to complain, but it was busy.
