We camped two nights in Potawatomi State Park. Perro loved sniffing the trees and hiking along the Tower Trail. I brought along his Pound Puppies sleeping bag so he was cozy at night.
On Saturday we ate at Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant (Perro waited in the van). There are usually goats in the sod roof of the restaurant, but it was raining outside so the roof was too slippery for them. The appetizers were ligonberries, wasa brot (crispbread) and limpa (light rye bread). I had a big plate of parsnips, rutabagas, and potatoes with a fried egg on top and a side of pickled beets. Joey ate the perch sandwich. Yum! I wish I had room for some fruit soup for dessert, but I was stuffed.
Here's a small picture of the goats:

Before heading home, we toured the Eagle Bluff lighthouse, visited the maritime museum in Sturgeon Bay and sampled exceedingly sweet cherry wine at the Door County Winery. We avoided the infamous fish boil - I might be Swedish, but I draw the line at the bland, mushiness of boiled fish. Bring on the pickled beets instead!
Door County is my favorite place to go! You really do need to try the fish boil at least once, it's all about the experience. I highly recommend the summer fish boils at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek, book early though!
