Update on Whippy

I fed Whippy the iguana a huge plate of vegetable chow this morning. She's loves the fresh vegetables from the farmer's market and has been gobbling them down. She's still growing, even though she must be about 6-7 years old now and is definitely a full adult. She just finished shedding and already her head is turning the milky shade that indicates an impending shed. What an awesome lizard!

  1. I believe looking ugly is one of her defenses. It keeps other animals from wanting to eat her. In the wild, baby iguanas are mostly preyed on by spider monkeys. Adult iguanas don't have too many predators.
