Oh No! Vacation!

Well, I'm being forced to take a family vacation to Boston and Providence. I packed plenty of Luna bars for the trip. (Although these bars are supposed to be just for women, a male co-worker introduced me to them. He ate one when he was really hungry before a programming class. He recommended the Key Lime flavor to me.)

Ted and Cathy (my parents) invested in a 4 megapixel digital camera, so they gave me their old film camera to document the journey. Since Perro isn't coming along, I might not take as many pictures as usual. He's my favorite subject. We've never been seperated for this long before, not since he came to live with me. We're both feeling seperation anxiety right now as we're on the brink of this trip. Hopefully, Mystic and Beaner will keep him company in my absence.

I gave Whippy a bath last night. I usually put a towel on the edge of the tub so she can clamber out when she's sick of swimming. I forgot to do that last night and she climbed the shower curtain instead. Just think - last week I was at Target, contemplating shower curtains, and I was tempted to buy the $25 shower curtain with the Martha Stewart-like flowers embroidered on it. Now that the curtain is in shreds, I'm really glad I went for the plastic $1.99 one. Sometimes being a cheapskate really pays off.

Since I have an eight-hour flight home, featuring a two-hour layover in Atlanta, I bought a few new books at the Goodwill. One of them is A Wrinkle in Time by Madelaine L'Engle, which I vaguely remember reading in third grade.

Although I probably already own a copy or two, since it's one of my favorites, I bought The Great Gatsby. I'll be watching for the green light at the end of the dock. Did you know F. Scott Fitzgerald was a frequent visitor to Farmington? His grandma is buried in the cemetary up the road from my house. I also picked up a tattered copy of The Best of Dear Abby. Have you read any of these yourself? Any comments on them? Please let me know.

See you next week! Take care. Be good, but most of all, be good at what you do.

  1. An eight hour flight to Boston? You did tell them you wanted to go here:

  2. Last week AirTran changed my return flight, so I have layovers in Philadelphia and Atlanta. I might as well be flying to the UK. My friend Sarah is returning from Norwich next week, and I'll have to compare my flight length with hers.
