Dio is Still Alive

A few people were surprised that I saw Dio in concert. People have said, "He's still alive?" He looked pretty good in concert. His voice was awesome. I learned today that he's 64 years old. At an age where most people are eating the Denny's early bird special for dinner, Dio is still rocking out in concert until 1 AM. He must work out and eat a lot of fruits and veggies. Although I am a huge fan of Ozzy, you can see why Black Sabbath replaced him with Dio when Ozzy started to have a lot of drug problems. (I saw Ozzy reunited with Black Sabbath at Ozzfest in July 1997.) It's amazing to think Dio is actually about 10 years older than Ozzy, who can barely speak and walks like his pants are full. A lot of people think Dio is not as cool, because he sings about dragons and rainbows, but he's not a bad guy.

I like both Dio and Ozzy. Neither is as cool as Metallica, however. You can catch James Hetfield (one of the Metallica guys I met!) singing during the Dirty Dozen concert tonight on CMT. (Don't ask me why he's on the Country Music channel.)
