The Echo!
It was seven months ago yesterday that I brought the Echo home. We've been together for 4,433 miles now and we've been though our first synthetic oil change. Although I still miss my Festiva, now that it's December, it's enjoyable to have dash vents that blow heat. I probably won't have to tie a piece of cardboard onto the front grill of this car like I did with the Festy.
Last night I dreamt that I bought a mint cherry red '93 Festiva with white pin striping and a solid grey interior. What a pleasant dream. The only bad part was when I drove the new Festy home and I couldn't fit it into the garage because it was filled by the van and the Echo. If only Santa would bring me a new Festiva! But of course, there will never be a replacement for my Festy. Little Red was priceless.
I was wrapping gifts last Christmas eve when the junkyard tow truck came to pick up Little Red. It was a pretty sad moment. I hope this Christmas eve I'll be packing up the Echo with lots of presents and heading out into the cold with dash heat blowing on me. With any luck, I won't be spending Christmas eve with the tow truck driver this year!
