Big Storm, Little Pup
Yesterday I was trapped inside a conference room at work while a massive storm pelted our building with hail. All I could think of was my little pup, home alone, crouching in fear in the corner of his big plastic kennel. Perro is terrified by thunder and lightening. Whippy has no emotional reaction to storms, and the cats are fascinated and excited by them, so I was only worried about Perro. By the time I made it home, he'd forgotten about the storm. He stood up, stretched his back, and squeaked at me. (Perro rarely barks, he usually squeaks to say, "Hey, let me out of this box" or "Can I lick your ice cream cone?") My favorite little pup survived the big storm just fine. I guess he's just emotionally resilient.
