The Bureaucrats on the Bus Go Round and Round
Too many people are trying to ride the bus in Apple Valley, creating a lack of parking at the Transit Station. Who knew the bus would become so popular? My pals at my old job used to tease me for riding the big public limo.
The City Council is peeved that unauthorized bus riders from Farmington and Lakeville are parking in the Apple Valley park'n'ride. I'm a member of this group of illegal park'n'riders, making a run for the border every morning so I can take the bus. I removed my "Go Farmington Tigers!" bumper sticker and have affected an Apple Valley accent in order not to get caught.
Apple Valley is planning to institute permits to prevent Farmingtonians from using parking spaces. This will create a black market of permit sales to desperate border-crossers, and I'm sure a few injuries will arise from Farmington residents trying to cross the Apple Valley border in car trunks and truck trailers. But the bureaucrats on the Apple Valley City Council are either short-sighted, or willfully trying to discriminate against riders from south of the border.
Let the bureaucrats go round and round. I'll just sneak into the Eagan Transit Station. I'm already practicing my Eagan accent. Tonight I'll be digging through the boxes in the basement looking for my Eagan High School graduation tassle to hang from the Echo's rearview mirror.

Stuff like this makes me so angry! Our politicians wonder why there's a traffic problem in the Twin Cities?!?! It amazes me: more and more people are showing that they want public transportation, and services get cut and/or people are blocked from riding. It boggles my mind that we live in such a large metro area yet have such a poor public transportation system.
