Mary on the Move

Well, a few weeks ago I was walking Perro, and I wandered past a house for sale in my neighborhood. It looked pretty nice and Perro liked the bigger back yard. The next day I called up my credit union for a new mortgage, put my house on the market, and cleaned the basement. The second person who looked at my house decided to buy it. Cleaning the basement must have really helped the appearance. So this weekend I'll be on the move! The cats are really excited about getting their own bedrooms.

Whippy is moving into a new home too. Her old cage is 7 feet tall, and I can't move it out through the basement door. The air circulation system and heating elements have been running continuously for the past 6 years, so I'd like to replace them before they fail. Right now she's in a temporary, portable home from IKEA. It's not insulated, but since the weather forecast for Minnesota is the same as Mexico's, she'll be fine for a couple of weeks. I've been monitoring the cage temperature and humidity with a digital gauge, and yesterday she was at 86.3 degrees.

So the boxes are packed, the pets are ready to go, and two van loads of old stuff has been dropped off at Goodwill. I'm ready to be on the move!
