Rep. Jean Wagenius, a Democrat who owns land near Alexandria, is proposing that the state fund a program to feed starving ducks. “"Ducks that are fat and happy in Iowa get skinny in Minnesota",” she said. “"We don'’t have enough food in Minnesota."
Does she recommend food stamps for ducks? No, this won't work since ducks don't usually shop in grocery stores that accept food stamps or EBT cards. Instead she proposes creating breeding ponds full of fish, where ducks can graze for a seafood dinner. Yum! I suppose ducks love fishes because they're so delicious.
